For fiberglass water slides that have gone chalky, faded, or rough from skipped maintenance and years of sun. The Heavy Oxidation Kit is a complete two-stage restoration: a coarse-cut compound to remove the oxidized gelcoat, a medium-cut compound to bring the gloss back, and a UV wax to lock in the finish, plus the pads and cleaners to do the job properly.

Which kit do I need?

Run your hand across a dry section of the slide. If it comes away chalky or white, or the surface feels rough and the color has gone flat, you have heavy oxidation and need the Heavy Oxidation Kit. If the slide is simply dull or hazy and has lost its shine but still feels smooth, the Light Oxidation Kit will bring it back.

Why two compounds?

Heavily oxidized gelcoat needs to be cut and then polished. Farécla Profile 200 Select is a coarse-cut compound that eliminates heavy defects and strips the chalky, oxidized layer quickly. On its own it leaves the surface clean but flat. Farécla Profile 400 Advanced Plus follows it to refine the surface and restore a high gloss. Skipping the second step is why so many do-it-yourself slide restorations end up clean but never shine again. This kit gives you both.

What’s in the kit

• Farécla Profile 200 Select Coarse Cut Liquid Compound (1 L) – removes heavy oxidation, chalking, and defects from gelcoat. Stage one.
• Farécla Profile 400 Advanced Plus Fast Medium Cut Liquid Compound (1 L) – refines the cut surface and brings back a high-gloss finish. Stage two.
• Farécla Clean and Protect (1 L spray) – silicone-free cleaner and protectant for quick wipe-downs between waxes. Leaves a friction-free, high-gloss finish.
• Farécla Profile UV Wax, Hand Application (1 L) – thick wax with UV inhibitors. Seals the restored gelcoat and provides up to 3 months of protection and gloss.
• Two 8″ Farécla G Mop Wool Compounding Pads – the pad Farécla recommends for its liquid compounds. Use one for cutting and keep the second clean for polishing.
• Star brite Boat Wash, Blueberry Scent (16 oz) – concentrated, phosphate-free wash for the first step and for routine cleaning afterward.

How to use it

1. Wash. Mix the Boat Wash per the label, wash the whole slide, and rinse. Let it dry.
2. Cut. Shake the Profile 200 well. Working one section at a time with a rotary polisher and the first wool pad, compound the slide until the chalkiness is gone and the color is even. Keep the pad moving and the surface damp with compound.
3. Polish. Switch to the clean wool pad and repeat with Profile 400 to remove the haze left by the coarse compound and bring up the gloss.
4. Protect. Wipe down, then apply the Profile UV Wax by hand with a soft cloth and buff off once it has hazed.
5. Maintain. Use Clean and Protect for quick touch-ups between washes, and re-wax every three months.

Tip: darker slide colors (Clay, Platinum, Blue) show polishing haze more than light colors, so take your time on the Profile 400 step.

Keeping it that way

A fiberglass slide should be washed and waxed every three months during the season. That simple routine keeps the ride surface slick, protects the gelcoat from UV, and stops oxidation from building up in the first place.
